Natacha Poberaj began her professional career at the age of 17, dancing in Argentina’s prestigious “Ballet Folklórico Nacional”, directed by Santiago Ayala “El Chucaro” and Norma Viola. Natacha joined the highly respected Tango x 2 Company, directed by Miguel Angel Zotto, in 2000 and spent the next two years touring Europe, the US and Argentina with the acclaimed shows Perfumes de Tango and Una Noche de Tango, in which she danced with partners Ricardo Barrios and Jesus Velazquez.
Then in 2002, Natacha formed a dance partnership with Roberto Herrera, with whom she performed Tango and Folklore and taught workshops at festivals throughout Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Sweden, Portugal, Japan and Korea. She was Prima Ballerina and Assistant Director of the ‘Tango Nuevo’ Company, with Roberto Herrera until 2004. She performed and taught workshops at the CITA Cosmotango Festival in Buenos Aires in 2003 with Roberto Herrera and in 2006 gave an exhibition with Fabian Peralta. Natacha has performed shows at numerous Milongas in Buenos Aires, with Roberto Herrera, Fabian Peralta, Daniel ¨el Flaco¨ Garcia, and El ¨Pibe¨ Avellaneda.
In 2006 Natacha won the World Tango Championship in Buenos Aires, with partner Fabian Peralta, whilst 7 months pregnant.
Eduardo Villegas began his artistic career at the age of 12, dancing provincial folklore ballets. In 1991 he was accepted into the prestigious ‘Ballet Folklórico Nacional’, directed by Santiago Ayala “El Chúcaro" and Norma Viola, where he rapidly went on to become principal dancer. He then travelled the world playing the lead in Santiago Ayala’s choreographic and artistic masterpiece El Gaucho Martín Fierro, based on the texts by José Hernández. In 1997, Eduardo was invited by the choreographer Juan Carlos Copes to appear in the show “Entre Borges y Piazzolla” directed by Manuel González Gil and featuring Raúl Lavie and Pepe Soriano, which received 5 Estrella de Mar awards.
He also choreographed the show “Tango 2000” on a South-East Asian tour with the Orchestra Afrotango de Oscar D’auria, to the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The following year Eduardo created, directed and choreographed the show Malambo, based on a fusion of Tango – Folklore and Flamenco, which was presented in Sweden and Norway. In 2003 he participated in a grand tour of the US and Canada with the Buenos Aires Tango Company, which traveled to over 70 cities including New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles , San Francisco and Toronto
Eduardo and Natacha have known each other since the two shared the stage at the prestigious Ballet Folklórico Nacional in the early 1990s. They went on to work together in Miguel Angel Zotto’s Tango x 2 Company in 2005, in a season of the show “Su historia” at the Lola Membrives Theatre. Eduardo and Natacha are currently dancing as a couple with the Orchestra of the ‘maestro’ Mariano Mores. In addition, they are participating in shows with ‘maestro’ Juan Carlos Copes.
They also give classes and regularly perform exhibitions at milongas and events in Buenos Aires.
