Silvio Grand & Mayra Galante


Silvio Grand and Mayra Galante are professional Tango Dancers teachers in Argentina and they give seminars abroad, as regards Tango as a dance, and expressive elements for the stage. They join an elegant and young stile in their dance. They have participated in festivals, and have given seminars and master-classes in countries such as Argentina, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Mexico, Russia and Japan. They also performed in the cinema art and as a publicity model on the international level.

Silvio Grand es desde hace más de 10 años bailarín profesional y docente de tango argentino. Junto con Mayra Galante, su partenaire en escena, son genuinos, fusionando elegancia, juventud y sentimientos entre un hombre y una mujer que se ofrecen el uno al otro en un abrazo, un abrazo en el que participan el cuerpo, el alma y la música. Un baile cálido, fluido, virtuoso, estético y muy representativo del tango argentino.

Han sido figuras protagonistas en conciertos como ¨Tango con las Estrellas¨ en el Cappella Concert Hall del museo Hermitage y en reiteredas oportunidades protagonistas del espectáculo ¨Dreams about tango¨ junto con el bandoneonista Jorge Spessot en el Teatro Nacional de la Comedia Musical de San Petersburgo. Fueron tambien invitados como protagonistas del festival de Tango y Cine Argentino, bailando en el Teatro Maxim Gorki y Fesco Concert Hall de la ciudad de Vladivostok, Rusia.

Han integrado elencos de compañías artísticas, como Esquina Carlos Gardel y compañía de Juan Carlos Copes bailando en destacados escenarios como Oktober de San Petersburgo, Teatro del Kremlin de Moscu, Luna Park de Buenos Aires, Rigas Kongressu Nama en Letonia, Metropolitan de D.F. Mexico, Teatro Popular Melico Salazar de Costa Rica, Teatro Verdi de Italia, Nacional Ruben Dario de Nicaragua, Teatro Liceo de Buenos Aires, Teatro Nacional de Rep. Dominicana, entre otros, sumando actuaciones y espectaculos en mas de 20 paises de America, Europa y Asia. También han dictado seminarios, masterclasses en escuelas de baile y participado de festivales en Europa, Mexico, Japón y Rusia.

Silvio Grand nació en Buenos Aires en el año 1980 y vivió su infancia en los barrios Parque Chacabuco y Caballito. El teatro y las artes escénicas en general captaban su interés desde pequeño y a los 10 años de edad, sin una formación teatral ortodoxa realizo sus primeras experiencias en programas televisivos de Argentina, en los llamados entonces Canal 9 y Canal 11, iniciándose su vocación actoral.

A los 15 años de edad, en el barrio Caballito, se encontró por primera vez con los maestros milongueros Mimi y Francisco Santapá y de su mano conoció el Tango. Ellos fueron sus primeros maestros y quienes supieron transmitirle su paseo y el encanto de este baile. Transitó luego por diversos maestros incorporando además elementos para el espectáculo: Roberto Herrera, Kela y Héctor Pájaro, Fernando Galera y Vilma Vega, Gustavo Naveira, Carlos Copello, entre otros. Se formó en Danza Jazz, en los estudios de Julio Bocca, Maximiliano Guerra, Noemí Coelho y Rodolfo Olguín y Manuel Vallejos; Contemporánea, con Gerardo Litvak, y en el Instituto Universitario Nacional de Artes; Partenaire con Gabriela Galucci; Teatro Cómico, y Actuación en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, y Centro Cultural General San Martín. Su formación artística convive con estudios universitarios, como una licenciatura en publicidad, negociación comercial y coordinación general de festivales.

Silvio Grand has been a professional dancer and teacher of Argentine Tango for 10 years. Along with Mayra Galante, in his art, he tries to be natural and to combine elegance, youth and a lot of feelings between a man and a woman who offer themselves in an embrace; and it is an embrace in which the body, the soul and the music take part. A warm, smooth, virtuous, aesthetic and very representative expression of Argentine Tango.

He has been part of the cast of artistic companies, concert halls and concerts on the international level, dancing in stages such as Oktober, starring role in the Cappella Concert Hall of St. Petersburg, Theatre of Kremlin in Moscou, Rigas Kongressu Nama of Latvia, Melico Salazar Popular Theater of Costa Rica, Verdi Theater in Italy, National Rubén Darío of Nicaragua, National Theater of Dominican Republic, among others (see Artistic Experience). He has also given seminars, master-classes, and he has participated in Festivals in Europe, Mexico, Japan and Russia. He also performed in the cinema art and as a publicity model on the international level.

He as born in Buenos Aires in 1980. He grew up in the districts of Caballito and Parque Chacabuco.He discovered Tango dancing when he was 15 years old at the hand of the milonga teachers Mimi and Francisco Santapá. Then he learns from different teachers, incorporating elements for the show as well: Roberto Herrera, Kela and Héctor Pajaro, Fernando Galera and Vilma Vega, Gustavo Naveira, Carlos Copello, among others.

He was trained in Jazz Dancing, at the studios of Julio Bocca, Maximiliano Guerra, Noemí Coelho and Rodolfo Olguín, and Manuel Vallejos; Contemporary Dancing, with Gerardo Litvak, and at the National Universitary Arts Institute; Partenaire with Gabriela Galucci; Rock and Roll, Comic Theater, and Acting at The University of Buenos Aires, and Centro Cultural General San Martín. His artistic education coincides with his education at university, such as a degree in advertising, business negotiation and general coordination of events.
